Coir Pith & Cocopeat
Low-EC washed and buffered coir substrates from India’s coconut heartland — engineered for hydroponics, greenhouse cultivation and professional horticulture, shipped to buyers worldwide.
A renewable growing medium, refined for export
Coir pith — commonly known as cocopeat — is a sustainable by-product of the coconut fibre industry and one of the world’s most reliable soilless growing media.
Nisha & Co sources from India’s leading coir belts across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh — the regions that dominate global supply. We focus on the value-added end of the market: washed and buffered blocks, grow bags and ready-to-use formats that meet the salt, pH and consistency standards demanded by professional growers.
Every shipment is backed by a Certificate of Analysis and phytosanitary certification, so buyers in Europe, the Gulf, APAC and North America receive a product that performs the same, batch after batch.
Grades of Coir Pith
Grades are distinguished mainly by electrical conductivity (EC) and the level of washing or buffering treatment, matching each use case from open-field farming to sensitive hydroponic crops.

Unwashed / High EC
EC > 1.0 mS/cm. Economical grade for landscaping, soil conditioning and open-field agriculture; supplied loose or as low-cost blocks.

Washed Coir Pith
EC < 0.5–0.8 mS/cm. Rinsed with fresh water to cut salts — ideal for potting soil, nurseries and floriculture.

Buffered Coir Pith
EC < 0.5 mS/cm, pH 5.5–6.8. Calcium-treated to displace sodium and potassium — preferred for hydroponics and sensitive greenhouse crops.
Export Formats
Compressed at ratios of 5:1 to 8:1 for efficient container loading, then expanded on site with water.

5 kg Blocks
The most common export format, compressed 5:1 to 8:1.

650 g Bricks
Retail-ready bricks for home and garden markets.

Grow Bags
Pre-filled bags for greenhouse and protected farming.

Discs · Pellets · Chips
For nursery propagation and orchid cultivation.
Quality Parameters — Export Grade
Typical standards for our washed and buffered substrates. Exact values are confirmed per batch in the Certificate of Analysis.
| Parameter | Export Standard |
|---|---|
| EC | < 0.5 mS/cm (washed / buffered) |
| pH | 5.5 – 6.8 |
| Moisture | < 20% (compressed blocks) |
| Compression Ratio | 5:1 – 8:1 |
| Water Retention | Absorbs 7–8 times its weight |
| Certification | Phytosanitary + COA (Certificate of Analysis) |
Export Markets
Demand patterns vary by region — we match grade and format to each market’s needs.

Consistency you can ship against
Low-salt assurance
High-EC batches are the leading cause of EU rejection. Our washing and buffering keeps EC within spec, shipment after shipment.
Documented compliance
Phytosanitary certificates and a Certificate of Analysis accompany every order — mandatory for EU, Gulf and APAC entry.
